Southwest Wake Christian Assembly

Southwest Wake Christian Assembly is a local "family-integrated" church that meets in southwest portion of Wake County, North Carolina. We are currently meeting at Wake Christian Academy, Elementary School (please come in the Simpkins Rd. entrance. Another church is meeting at the high school and uses the entrance from Wake Christian Academy Dr. Click here for directions ) on Sundays beginning at 10:00 AM.

The church is committed to model itself after the pattern of the church as seen in the New Testament. For more details, see our Principles & Practices document as well as our Shepherding Guidelines.

Below are a few more resources from which you can learn about us and hopefully be encouraged to grow in your walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:

  • Doctrinal Statement - This doctrinal statement is a non-exhaustive attempt to summarize our beliefs in a page.
  • Principles & Practices - This document is a continual work-in-progress which attempts to succinctly describe our principles and practices.
  • Shepherding Guidelines – how we handle stuff that’s not covered in the Doctrinal Statement or Principles & Practices.
  • Diligent Workmen – part of our plan for church-based leadership training of men
  • Titus 2 Women – our women tend to meet once a month to encourage each other in their roles… sorry, we don’t have anything written up about it yet.
  • Teaching Schedule – After teaching through the principles of our Principles & Practices document, we’ve been working through the scriptures starting from Genesis, with occasional pauses for topical teaching. In mid-January 2004, we finished Deuteronomy and switched from our walk through the Old Testament to work through Luke. Then we switched back to Joshua, Judges, and Ruth. We then went back to the New Testament to teach Acts, finished 1 & 2 Samuel, James and Galatians, and are currently working through 1 Kings.  The plan is to teach through the entire Scriptures so that we do not hold back the whole counsel of God
  • Past Sermon Notes – if you are interested in any past teachings, send us an e-mail.
  • Fellowship Meals - Every week, we end our time of worship with a fellowship meal. This gives us a chance to discuss the message and worship together more and encourage each other and build each other up.
  • General Messages - various topical messages that have often been given to a broader audience than just our local body.
    • Restoring Church & Home – The Lord clearly ordained two institutions: Church and Family. Unfortunately, many today seem to emphasize one or the other as predominate, sometimes to the detriment of the other. We seem confused. However, God, the author of both, is not confused at all. Here, we discuss how to get back to God’s design for both in a way that makes each stronger.
    • Hospitality Commands – Many Christian parents are familiar with Deuteronomy 6 and other passages that tell us to bring up our children in the ways of the Lord through discipleship. We do a lot together as a family. But what about outreach? Just as we go to the Scripture to learn how to go about training our children, we should go there to learn how the Lord tells us to reach out to others.
    • Grown-up Plants and Corner Pillars – Adolescence: a time of confusion or a term of confusion? Just about all Christian parents want their children to grow up to become godly men and women. Many just hope and pray that they can just make it through the teen years without having it all come apart. But what does the Bible have to say about this time of life? And, what are we doing to help our children meet God's design for their lives before, during, and after the teen years?
    • Family Worship – Biblical spiritual leadership in the home, whether it is called family worship, family devotions, family religion or the family altar, has been recognized as a distinctive feature of the Christian household throughout the history of the church. The Bible assigns this responsibility to the male head of the household. Both of these truths are little known and less observed in many Christian families today. The consequence for these families has been relationships between husbands and wives and parents and children that are far from God's design. This seminar will challenge and encourage fathers to review their priorities and gain vision.
    • Household Order and True Religion – "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." (James 1:27). So what does this have to do with getting our families in order? And what does that look like once we do? This seminar discusses God's design for the order of the family and how that can lead us to purify our religion and bring together those who feel like they are in it alone.
